Re: New jacket.....
After witnessing my mate bin his R1 last year, I can vouch for the air bag system that Dainese use - he walked away with just hurt pride! I went out and bought the very same set of leathers after that. Following this, Mrs Adam (who manages a Dept in a local Orthopaedic Hospital - and has plenty of m...

Re: New tyre time
Some grades of stainless are OK to to use in shear for disc bolts, although I don't like set screws (which are favoured by HD and Buell). If you're worried by hydrogen embrittlement in plated bolts (I've had heads pop off when torqued correctly - not on disc bolts I hasten to add) then use 12.9 high...

Re: Finally!!
It's a while since we went through this with the Buell mob. Apparently, under EU Law, repairs have to carried out by someone 'competant' (however that's defined) but doesn't preclude home repair as long as OEM parts are used. However the snag is, this legislation is (was) aimed at cars etc and motor...

Re: Brecon TT
There's been an official press release on the Welsh RR Facebook page this morning. It blames the Welsh govt. I wonder if it gives the full story. I know what I think! What a shame. I couldn't go anyway since the UK Buell owners club always have their annual BBQ at my house on the first wk end of Aug...

Re: Brecon TT
Looks like ACU are now refusing to sanction this money making exercise (quite predictably for all sorts of reasons) so it may well not place - which is a great shame although a lot of top RR riders have never wanted anything to do with it. On a more positive note, Oliver's Mount is all systems go fo...

Re: Annoying Fluid Leak...
the tasteless bit seems to suggest nothing to worry about tho. I've thought about investing in a dog drier (cheaper for the same tool that's advertised as a bike drier!!!) Rather than faff about with my compressor to dry my bike post wash, I use a cheap petrol leaf blower with the end of a 2lit pla...

Something which should appeal to you Andy is 'Wales, History of a Nation' by David Ross. An excellent and well researched read.

Re: Born to Run by B.Springsteen
The McGuiness book is quite good, but a different style to the excellent tome dictated by MD. Much as I'm a fan of Maria Costello, avoid any literature written by her. It's crap

Re: Born to Run by B.Springsteen
I remember an interview with Keef where he was discussing the Nobel Prize for Literature awarded to St Bob Dylan. Keef said he should have been given a Nobel Prize for Chemistry!

Yep, Fantic 300 with a 240 tank fitted to preserve the original bodywork. I've been out at a Twinshock trial today, and it's now in my van, not quite so clean.

Re: [NOT recommended] but worth checking out- ALDI
Managed to auction a couple of the battery chargers for over £30 at the bike club dinner, with proceeds going to the Irish Air Ambulance (the Road Racers favourite insurance company ) and several other bike riding mates thought I'd bought them really expensive Xmas presents

Done! Gave it a quick blow over with etch primer and black top coat. Also made x2 Spring clips (1mm dia) to replace the Eclips, so the whole thing is QD

Home made SatNav mount
image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I got some ideas off the RS forum and decided to make one for my Bike. The main spindle has some rubber bushings that protect the screen pivots. Once the Eclips have been removed, they retract far enough to allow the spind...

Re: WONT START
My mate with a 'Big Bang' R1 had exactly this problem about a week before he was due to leave for the TT. Dealers couldn't book him in for a weeks, so he asked me to take a look. An hour later  the plugs were out, and we had a spark, (don't laugh, the workshop manual on my Buell 1125 track bike...
