Re: End of an era

Bought a KTM RC8. In some ways a similar bike to the 12S. Certainly in riding position if not throttle action.
It’s also a bit of a marmite bike I think. Not as civilised as the 12s but definitely as exciting.

End of an era

Well, the 12S went to a new home today after 12 great years, 107000 miles, track days, tours of Europe and generally great riding. Happily it went to a forum member who plans to give it the TLC it needs and ride it on track. Its been great being part of this forum and hopefully I'll still be allowed...

Re: R1200S Misfire troubleshooting - Bristol

You can isolate the coil by unplugging them in turn. The bike will still run with one spark missing but not two. Pull a coil and start the bike, If it runs, the coil you have pulled is bad. If it doesn't run, its one of the other coils. Yes, it can happen at that mileage. Another issue that will cau...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S

Changed the fluid today. Should have done it earlier! First release of the bleed nipple saw a great bubble of air into the tube. The new fluid flushed through showed how bad the old fluid was. Clutch lever as it should be now so happy that seems to be resolved.

Re: Brake service

Just do it as normal. If you have ABS you will not be able to bleed the ABS pump without the actuator software but that just leaves a little old fluid in the system. Not enough to worry about

Re: I hope I like my r1200s

My tatty one hasn't been broken yet but i'm sure that's what will happen when it goes on eBay.
Just had the rear shock rebuilt as well!! I don't know whether to take off panniers and sell separately or leave it complete and ask a bit more.
It did make a great track bike at Cadwell and Donington.

Re: Front wheel bearing seals

Put back what came out, there are i believe four variations of seal dependant on the wheel. There can even be a variation from side to side dependant on the spacer being used

Re: r12s 190/55 too big for you ilmburger hugger? Do this

I think the rear tyre size should be 190/50 not 190/55. The hugger should then fit
