As has been said, it's best to take them off. A drill and polishing mops and a few minutes work and you get this :D .

Why did I sell it?

Good looking bike.

A grey belly pan, just like the one I'm selling off my bike, would finish it off nicely! :)

Al - my defection may only be temporary :) . Thanks for the suggestions, the dealer also suggested the battery but after an overnight charge the problem was still there. However on the Optimate it was not showing green which I would have expected. Anyway I decided to take it in and let them sort it ...

You got an inside track there Ian? Or did you just ask them? No inside track, just happened to be in there and they told me about it. They've sold 7 R1200Ss to date, with another 3 new ones in the showroom. They originally offerred £750 off a new one, now it's up to £1,000, presumably want to rid o...

Apparently it's one they've just bought in from BMW management, along with a couple of K1200R's as well. Could it be a press bike, to explain the relatively high mileage in 3-4 months?

Cheers :)

Like Ade I've got Daytona Road Star Goretex boots and never had wet feet :D . After 7-8 years when I'd worn all the nobbles off the sole they put new soles and Goretex liners in for £65. Brilliant :D .

Ron

Don't know what the 'additional delivery' is. Only noticed it later. It is one of the questions I will ask if we ever get to the serious discussion stage. Maybe Scotland is so far for them to come we have to pay more, seems fair  .

Thanks Ron So they all have it! and BMW list it as an option and charge an 'additional' £175 for it. Good idea. There's also Delivery at £293.75 and then additional delivery at £202 listed. You've got to admire these guys. Richard Glad you approve of route, it was very good yesterday, noticably less...

Thanks Paul The dealer 'thought' it gave longer gearing, ie higher top speed but less acceleration, couldn't see the point of that! How did the Hawes run go this weekend? I'm envious :( . Although a run up Glen Devon, Glen Eagles, Crieff, Loch Earn and Glen Ogle today helped to restore balance :D . ...

I was in John Clarks in Dundee today. They had a used F800ST with 150 miles on it. Guy had bought it and after 100 miles decided it was too fast and too heavy  . The dealer tried to put him on a 650 but all he wanted to do was get rid - at a significant loss. Still I guess John Clark's happy....

Calling R1200S owners

Does anyone know what the 'Alternative Final Drive' option available on the 1200S is :?: It's listed as an option but I've not been able to find any information on it.

Cheers

Have to agree with the others on this one Paul.

The Zard looks good, but not as good as the Akra.
Tell yourself you will be able to get more for it when you come to sell. May not be strictly true but it's helped me 'justify' buying the expensive one a few times

Cheers
