Re: Seized suspension

If you like the way it rides leave them alone- If you replace or get the knobs working you'll only introduce self doubt, un-reconciled fears and confusion :D

Re: SENIORS EXAM

The Canary Islands are in the Atlantic not Pacific Ocean - clearly an American quiz as they shouldn’t spell “colour” either. :bounce:

Re: ruSTy

Note of caution: Removing the rear sub frame is not a doddle getting it un-threaded from the brake pipes (which the Haynes manual tells you to take off thereby giving you another headache when you put them back on [bleeding] especially if you have ABS and servo brakes. So think before you rush into...

Re: Battery charger connection

I had a similar problem. the Dealer had fitted a charger tail to the battery it had a black plug with a red rubber cap - My low end optimate came with a white Nylon plug. So I bought some new nylon plugs from e bay and changed the plug on the tail from the battery. This now matches a wire from a pow...

:occasion5: :occasion5: :D I had to look it up. I like to look up these things - Nunc est bibendum Cheers! :occasion5: I did Latin at 'O' level....the only thing I can remember, apart from the RAF's and old squadron's mottos of course, is 'da mihi osculum meum suspirium'......  Pete A ...

Re: Certificate of Conformity Charges

Just put my R1100S into the ULEZ finder (a 2001 model) and it failed - ie I would have to pay the charge as well as the congestion charge. My F800ST (2009 model) and my Saab 95 Aero (2003 model) both pass without having to pay the ULEZ charge. Still have to pay the congestion charges though. I assu...

I beg to differ having changed three filters (two of them external on R1200ST much better idea than inside the tank) and one on an 1100S :D

Re: 11S fuel filter challenge

2Twins Don't use Jubilee clamps ( the worm drive type) They can cut into the hose over time. Use the original crimp on type or fuel injection rated screw type I think most folks on here who change their filters don't do anything clever with the clips you just pull the pipe, clip and all, off the fi...

Re: 11S fuel filter challenge

Fuel filters are funny things: First one I changed on my 1100s I cut open and unravelled the element - one side was a greeny khaki colour the inlet side was black - so yours dated 2004 was probably clogged so not allowing full fuel pressure. Another incident was with a Diesel car - several times whe...

Re: Bike "Dash Cam"

That link refused to play - maybe my work computer's security blocked it. I also have front and rear cameras on both our cars. The front one is built into a unit that attaches to the rear view mirror It has a wide angle "blue" anti dazzle mirror with a built in screen and is also the recor...

Re: Bike "Dash Cam"

I have the same unit, still to fit. They power on and off automatically with the ignition (if you choose) and the newest segment overwrites the oldest - when the 32gb card is full. Well worth it. Indeed they do if you pick up a switched supply (I stole my power supply from the Auxiliary socket on t...

Bike "Dash Cam"

Recently fitted one of these. Bike Cam.png Here's some footage from last weekend from the front camera. (Rear camera footage is the same quality but just weird to watch) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-nX-pKWD7s You can have the screen blank while riding and you could also mount the unit in the ta...
