Another prang....

My lovely, early RT was written off last week - an HGV turned right across my path....BANG! Kin ell, I spent 15 mins staring into space, unable to move my arms or legs, which was terrifying, to put it mildly. My limbs gradually resumed normal service, and the subsequent CT scan showed no bon...

Re: R1200s Front Engine Cover

Ive got a spare one in the garage, bought for my RT with the intention of having it powdercoated, but I'm so pleased with my diy refurb on the one on the bike, it's no longer needed! It's been bead-blasted and had etch primer applied as shown. Some areas of (now exterminated!) corrosion, the bulk of...

***DEFINITELY SOLD!*** Garmin Zumo 400 with LM.

This was, I think, the bum-basic Zumo unit back in the day, so no fripperies, just pure, unadulterated navigation.....and it does that perfectly! I recently upgraded it to Lifetime Maps, courtesy of a big discount Garmin were offering. Maps are installed on a genuine Garmin SD card. It now has the v...

Re: insurance blues

The renewal might have gone up irrespective of the no-fault bump, it's what insurers do. I had a prang in France a while back, not my fault, it happened in the final week or so of that year's cover - I was with the AA at the time. The way they dealt with the accident was faultless, although it took ...

Re: Rear Shock Top Mount Assembly Question

Hi Thanks guys, it’s the ovaloid nut. Another query I have noticed that the head of the top mount bolt passes through the left hand side hole in the mounting bracket is that right? Regards, Jon On the RT/GS/ST, I'm sure the top bolt goes in from the right side, when sitting on the bike - I would as...

Hi Jon.

It's just a nut, it has a 'built-in' washer.

Re: ABS-ectomy

ABS-ectomy. So as I have now got the dreaded ABS problem, which can't be fixed apparently, I am considering having the system taken out. I have seen that lots of owners have already done this but I have a question :- When you went back to your insurers to declare a 'modification', what reaction did...

Cracking pics Steve, that colour scheme really suits the K1. Is the paint original?

Re: Final drive rusted onto driveshaft.

Instead of heat, you could try going the other way, as it were - a freeze spray might work. Amazon has some listed at around £12 a can.
