BMW 'Small Softbag 2'

This has been well-used, but is still in presentable condition and retains its waterproofness! The reflective panels on the sides have some marks on them, which I've tried to show in the photos, and so does the one on the back of the bag. One of the D-rings meant to take the shoulder strap is missin...

Re: Black engine, what year?

Looking at the parts catalogue, a replacement engine was available in black or silver all the way through production, from '96 to '05.

Re: Garmin Basecamp

Glad its not just me then. Tried Phil's link and set up an account (or tried to), it still hasn't sent me the log in activating email yet, so I guess I can discount that one as well. I just had a thought - a printed map doesn't have all this shit to deal with, so I've written the road numbers and t...

Re: Garmin Basecamp

If you do decide to dabble with Tourstart, just one little thing to be aware of. You'll need to download a little programme called 'Tourstart Transfer', it lets the Tourstart website talk to your satnav when transferring a custom route. The 'recommended' way to do things is to create a route, give i...

I use this - https://tourstart.org/ Ultra-intuitive, nothing to really 'get the hang of'....it just works . Free trial period, then around £14 a year, worth every penny! Pete Is this purely a mobile app and you can’t upload the route to a dedicated bike nav ? No, I have it on my laptop......I creat...

Re: Lagavulin ..

You sound very reflective there Steve....bordering on the poetic, dare I say! :) I only have a window of around 30 seconds between poetic reflectivity and nodding off if I start on my favourite malt, so the chances of committing owt to print are about zero! For all the single malt I've drunk o...

Re: R12S Torque values

Doing service tomorrow but have misplaced the table of torque values, anyone who can help completing the below? Oil drain plug torque 32 Nm (is this for engine oil?).....service CD-ROM says 23Nm, then 32Nm Oil filter 11 Nm on the filter. Oil filler plug - I've never torqued this, just done it by ha...

Re: R1100S Cubic Capacity on V5?

Hi, and welcome to the Forum. :) I don't know much about the earlier boxers, but even though the engine number matches that on the V5, it doesn't preclude an engine change at some point....assuming an 1150 engine will fit an 1100 (see, told you I didn't know much!). Clerical errors on V5s do h...

Re: Slippin'and a slidin'

Crikey! Glad you're OK-ish, hope you're not suffering too much. My ST started life as a non-ABS model, and when I first got it was on the original factory-issue discs and pads. After a couple of years, one of the discs warped, giving me that horrible pulsing feeling through the lever. I ende...

Re: R1100S 5.5 Rear Wheel

Part numbers on RealOEM are the same for the non-ABS 1100S with 5.5" option and the Rockster. I can't see any ABS option for the Rockster (might just be me though...!), or any narrower wheel, so if your 1100 is non-ABS, the Rockster wheel should fit.
