Re: Subframe brackets
I would be carefull with an insurance claim they are unemotional and ruthless and may jsut write off the machine, OR it may get classified in such a way that its hard to put on the road. I dont know that the legalities are about swapping frames The alternate is to buy another 1100S of any kind and t...

Re: Subframe brackets
Hi, any pictures?
I have read and seen pictures of somebody who did have the lugs re-welded.
I cant think where at the moment though, most likely would have been on one of the two 1100s face book pages

Re: Charley Boorman’s HP2s
There is one in my town that has never been run.
Assembled out of the crate and thats it.
Never even started.
Its availble for purchase, and the owner probably still has the shipping crate for it

Re: 5 countries in 4 day
Sounds like a great trip, i like long days and getting somewhere.
What you describe is similar to my romantic idea that got me into motorbikes, touring europe on the lesser roads.
I ended up in Australia instead where there are much fewer roads!

Re: How long is a modern Beemer designed to last ?
I think the drive train and mechanicals will go for a long time, they are mature technologies. I think it is the wireing / computers / touch screen / electric windscreen type things that will fail first. I recent (again) started looking at / researching MegaSquirt and MicroSquirt systems. I think th...
