Re: Is a paralever front end less inclined to tuck ?

The front end is very stable plush handling even when things get a wee bumpy under rubber. relax, enjoy for what it is :) Chris I can confirm that a non ABS R1100S Boxercup remains very stable under EXTREME hard braking, even on a very worn Kielder forest road as I witnessed a couple of years ago w...

Re: What have you done to your bike today ?

Sorry to hear about your bike being stolen. Presumably that was in London? How have your insurers reacted and will you be sorted in time for the Welsh weekend? Cheers, Paul Yep in London, from Paddington station car park which I thought was pretty safe as it has separate bike parking at a higher le...

Re: Hi

Welcome aboard Sean, The 11S is a really nice bike when setup well, but I can't help but feel that your shopping list must have doubled the cost of your purchase? However it will be a really good ride when your'e finished.

Re: Old Friends

That is fantastic news Peter, Geoff is often in our thoughts and I have texted Keith a few times to check on his progress, but alas either Keith has changed his number or I got it wrong to start with, Geoff is a lovely bloke who loves his family, is very friendly and a delight to be called a mate, I...

Re: Carol Nash to Bennetts after 4 years with Carol Nash

Absolutely agree that there is no loyalty with Ins companies, My FiL just had his renewal come through from AgeUK (Aegis), he's been with them for 6 years and just automatically renewed each year, this time around they are asking £965  , so we did the comparison site thing, and without pickin...

Re: r1100s Poor heated grips performance

Out of interest how long does your grips take to heat up if the engine isn't running? Out of sympathy for the alternator & battery I've never tried that, I always turn them off before I switch off, and wait until the bike is running and rolling before turning them on again. And in my experience...

Re: Fitting tracker to my R12S - need some electrics help

search1200s sat nav and Boxered had indeed replied and there is a feed under left side fairing and it gives the link for the correct connector to use - I didn't read enough to see if it is a permanent live tho Yes there is a connector there to plug a device into the canbus system, but it is only li...

Re: Shocked

Glad that you're ok Steve (sort of) that is a horrible thing to happen to you. if you don't go to A&E do you have an NHS walk in centre near you? you will be seen by a nurse specialist and usually much quicker. And if the police don't come to you, then you go to them and make a complaint against...

Re: Finally!!

I believe that it is Chris, As I understand it, as long as your servicing is performed by a dealer who is VAT registered, and they use genuine parts and follow the manufacturer's service protocol, then under the "block exemption ruling" then you are still under warranty. This is designed t...

Re: '03 11S: Evo ABS, Integral ABS, ABS1, ABS2 ... Arrrgggh!

John, I understand your frustration, so many different terms for the braking system :x I think the 2002/3 bikes had Brembo calipers that were branded Bmw on the front of the calliper, but branded Brembo on the backside,my 02 R11S was non ABS. Others were branded tokico etc, I guess the answer is the...
