Found it! You steered me in the correct direction : http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=0432-USA-06-2002-259S-BMW-R_1100_S_98_0422,0432_&diagId=46_0450 Item 11. I had fitted two of the small round cap screws where I should have fitted socket cap screws with washers. Great stuff and tha...

R1100S Front Tyre.

Throughout my R1100S ownership it's been a love-hate thing, mostly centred around the uncertain, non-planted feel I got from the front end. Yes - it got me around corners but it was always heart-in-mouth if I decided to get frisky. Tight corners were the worst, as if keeled well over, the front felt...

Thanks Mitch, but that's the 9mm brass air adjustment screw.

Cheers.

Throttle Stop Screws.

Hi Guys.

Ahem koff koff I've lost one of my throttle stop screws. Can't find a part number so I'd imagine BMW will sell me one as long as it's attached to a new engine.

So, would anyone know the thread size so I can sort a replacement?

Cheers.

Re: Doctor doctor

"Doctor Doctor I think I am suffering from Kleptomania"- " You'll have to take something for that" "Doctor Doctor I think I'm addicted to eye drops" - "You'll have to see someone about that" Ok I know they are rubbish but the humour board seems to have been a...

Thankyou nab . I've crawled the net over and over and not seen that document. John C. The riders handbook and the the technical booklet are supplied with the bike from new . Well there you are then: what self respecting bloke ever read the instructions that came in the box?

Brings a comedy of errors to a happy ending.

Thanks Dave and GR. :-) I've just finished crawling about the back of my headlight, and for the life of me, I can find only two adjusters: one for up/down and one for l/r. Where can I find more info? (I downloaded a bmw 1100S service document but it barely mentions this adjustment). The middle pic a...

R1100S headlight needed. :)

Hi Folks. I'm searching for an LHD headlight ie, one used in a country where One drives on the left hand side of the road - eg UK and Oz and a handful of other enlightened countries (as opposed to driving from the LHS of the car on the RHS of the road. |:-\ ). Yes, there is a tale of woe behind this...

Removing GS tubes !!!! Philistines !!! Un-believers !!! LOL. Well I'm still batting along happily with my GS choob setup, but there were a couple of things I sorted along the way: - engine vibration/harshness: did the full throttle position sensor and throttle sync (vacuum tube) setup and procedure....
