Re: Has any one tried this ?
It's never been a problem for me (yet) but I guess if all the classic car/ bike owners around the country start decanting petrol in their own garages the potential fire risk would be more of a worry for me .

Re: R1100s - 03 - iABS - Servo Stays on on key turn
I've never owned a servo model but the general consensus online (UKGSer) is that a GS-911 diagnostic tool may help but that in general the early pre'06 models are ticking timebombs that are not economically repairable . Assuming all the fluid reservoirs are topped up, brake light switches are operat...

Not a problem I've ever had , next time the filter is due for change , check the tank connector ( can be prone to corrosion) and that the float isn't stuck.

Re: Another 1100 Gearbox Question
It's hardly the external gearlinkage sticking? Happened to me on my 1100S , dismantled and lubed , everything fine!

Re: Anyone buying a new bike?
I've been lusting after a Honda CB500X since I took a test ride in early 2020 but with still severely limited travel and the passage of time I'm finding my DL 250 a very capable bike (if a little lacking on motorways which I generally keep away from) and generally just unwilling to commit to anythin...

Re: Has Covid restrictions stopped people posting?
Different jurisdiction but with a 5km "exercise and essential only" travel limit since late December, generally all I get to do is commute to work . Had a few days of permitted unrestricted travel over Christmas, so made the most of it and clocked up approx 1000km along with my "norma...

Re: Hi from Yorkshire
, If I connect a 12volt supply to the fuel pump it starts first touch, so I checked the supply to the connector and I get 12v very briefly on turning on the ignition (12volts almost instantaneously but falling as quickly to zero) but not for the 2 seconds I'm lead to believe it should, on cranking ...

Steve , are you going soft in your old age ? It doesn't seem that long ago that you were trundling around on an old Funduro in the snow !.

Re: Item you didn’t buy ...
Not so much something that isn't available but upgraded shocks . I put up with the originals for 90odd k miles and then transformed the ride quality just when I stopped using the bike on a regular basis. Lightweight wheels would have been nice too. I'd also love a decent seat for my S although I gue...

Re: Couple of old photies
I think it took me a decade before I realised my 11S was missing that long section of mudguard at the rear... My first BMW was a '95Funduro purchased in '98, an underrated and extremely capable bike even over long distances (imho) but at the time shifted it on after a year ,a lot of mileage, and man...
