Re: brick

Hello,

One of the best bricks I think - I have had all of them except the K1 which IMHO was styled way ahead of its time. I even liked the (some would say) garish graphics!

Maybe I need to scratch that one as prices are rising...

Nice choice!

Apparently he lived quite a wild life in an alcoholic haze most of the time...

Re: Here's a Gotcha I Didn't Know About

Hello, Somebody I know was fined for moving out of the way at traffic lights to allow an ambulance to pass - This was done by a PCSO who happened to be standing there when this occurred. No amount of argument would dissuade this individual from issuing an on the spot fine. As a slight aside and as a...

Re: R1200s acquired

Herb, Thanks for clarifying... I got all excited for a moment! I think I know what you are talking about now. I went a different route and have the Power Commander III with 2 specifically written switchable maps so the issue you describe was sorted that way. And as you say - "simply unforgiveab...

Re: R1200s acquired

Hello, Sorry to hijack but your line: "I think the fuel temp sensor mod makes a worthwhile difference" interested me. This doesn't by any chance mean making the fuel gauge work which I thought was only available with the trip computer extra when new? This has been an issue (minor!) since I...

Re: Classic old bikes

All, I was lucky enough to buy a Laverda Jota brand new in 1980 what was then a princely sum - I think around £1,500?. I wanted one because it was supposed to be the fastest production motorcycle in the world. At the time it was, and remained, a fearsome beast but I was immediately attached to it. A...

Re: R1200S spotted today

Hello, For what it is worth when I went to my local dealer to buy I was steered towards the newly re-released K1200S (After the "Chocolate Camshafts" debacle) and after a ride I bought one. However I remember there being a Colgate R1200S also available which I did like the look of but I wa...

Re: 1200S panniers information and help please

Hello Andy, I am in Meopham, Kent near to Brands Hatch if you fancy a trip over here - About 35-40 minutes from Gatwick by car..... No doubt less on a motor-cycle. Motorcycle off the road at the moment or I'd offer to meet you. Nothing serious just needs an MOT and I haven't got around to it yet! Be...

Hello, I have been using the "Luxury" Coach service into London since 6th January when I rode down my (steep) slope of my driveway and instead of taking the lesser slope I turned down the steeper bit and the bike (The Honda VFR1200X Cross Tourer - Well there is no way I would bring the BMW...
