Seized suspension

Haven't been on here for a while as fell out of love with my 11S, but now seem to have the spark back. You guys really are the best at problem solving after all my troubles last year, so here's another question for you..... Haven't bothered before but the suspension knobs, one on top of tank for the...

Re: 11S fuel filter challenge

Have to agree, removing the fuel filter could not possible any harder. Why why why is the opening to get the pump/filter assembly in/out so frigging SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its also by a million miles the hardest ever tank to remove from the bike FFS

Re: Oil filler cap

Had that on my old R11S and fixed it by changing the entire oil filler plastic insert with cap. That is, bottom O-ring, plastic insert, cap with O-ring, four parts in all, takes 5 min although the bottom part is tricky to get seated properly but some persuation with a correctly sized socket and rub...

Re: Oil filler cap

I had the same same on my GS I replaced the Oring on the actual cap but no joy (used a BMW one because of the thickness) and so had to get the plastic insert part that goes in to the valve cover. Problem solved you need parts 5 and 6 from this IPC Picture https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain....

Oil filler cap

As bike not sold yet, I'm prepping it for annual pilgrimage to Assen next month. I had a very minor weep from filler cap when motorway cruising. As it doesnt happen any other time I guess it's because of constant pressure from within the engine at 5000 rpm or there abouts. It doesnt do it if no moto...

Re: servicing the 1100s, oh wot fun

just carried out my first basic service on the 1100s, after a quote of £700 from BMW (still cant work out how they can justify that price) WHAT A PAIN IN THE ARSE lol and I can see why the air filter on my bike hadn't been changed in a very long time lol..... Totally agree with you, this is one of ...

Re: selling my 1100S

Hi Gerry, I've only listed it on the free sites like gumtree etc... I really need to have a chat with myself to get it on ebay or auto trader. Ebay seems quite expensive, but you get lots of photos and lots of space for text. When I've used auto trader I didnt think there was much space for the text...

Re: Dont think I'm a boxer person

Yep, we all different, good job too.... At the moment I fancy a ZX12R, I want sports but needs to be a bit roomy, the 11S riding position is perfect, handles so well too, just lacks the warp factor acceleration I love. Gixxer 1000's would be on my list but i think it would be as cramped as my RRV bl...

Anyhow this is my 11, in the best colour IMO  I've owned it for 2 years, its performed faultlessly until the alarm packed up last September. All sorted now, runs and drives as it should. Dont think I'm a boxer person

After all the problems I had over the winter with my R1100S I think I have fallen out of love with it. It's the first twin "big Bike" I've owned, and after 2 years of mostly enjoyable riding I don't think its for me. I'm going to back to big Jap 4 pots. I can't actually put my finger on wh...
