On the ABS bikes the brake switches feed into the ABS unit which then provides the signal to the lamp. Bloody ABS

From memory the GS legs are about 10mm longer than the S'. They did them in blue with early 'brembo' caliper fitment too.

Quite likely, it's only a little microswitch & the breather pipes can foul it.

Check the fuel pump connector under the tank before you pull it all apart. These are prone to corrosion, last one I fixed looked ok but the wires just pulled out.
