Been to look at an 06 bike today. Totally immaculate, would never guess the age. Done <500miles in the last 4 years with only 4500 miles in total. Anyone with BMW F800S knowledge?

Madam passed her bike test yesterday so looking for a suitable bike and looking at an F800S. One thing that worries me a little is the reputation of the early bikes for having piston slap problems? Anyone with any knowledge? The bikes we are looking at are 06, 56 and 58 reg. Interestingly the 58 reg...

Wilco. An X1 Alu swingarm is winging its way from the USA and will be delugged and polished before going on. I need to fit a billet front engine mount as origin mounts and bolts eventually give in (crack) and you need to catch them before that happens! And I need to get rid of the awful standard foo...

Glad they aren't doing that in Lancashire yet.......though I imagine it is only a matter of time.

If this is a trend then I suspect they will also come down on MoT stations (like the one I use) which may provide advice about a noisy exhaust but will still pass them.

Plain White or Black helmets are always the cheapest options if you don't like that colour, remembering you will have it for a few years of clothing and bikes.

I have certainly enjoyed helmetless riding on a number of occasions. Crete, Oman and the oddest of the lot in Fort Worth Texas (where compare to other 'backward' places it just felt wrong, though I was legally riding an insured bike). TBH as long as it is warm, dry and you have decent shades on it's...
