I use petrol with varying amounts of ethanol in it as evidenced by the random shades of green it has coming out of the pump of my local filling station. I can tell you one thing, it's not going to affect your aluminium fuel tank, it leaves no residue and causes no corrosion. When I cut the bottom ou...

I think those vests must be worn mostly by newbie commuters because - 1. They tend to ride quite slowly yet don't vary their speed according to the hazard level. 2. They either don't ever check their mirrors or if they do they must think they are doing the world a favour keeping everyone at their ow...

Long range fuel tank
I have a fuel tank for sale, it holds 24.2 litres when filled to the very brim and gives a potential range exceeding 230 miles depending on how you ride. The furthest I've been myself is 234miles with about half a litre left. My riding is all heavy traffic and filtering so a frugal rider on open roa...

Have you considered a bike change, after struggling with aching knees I fitted the Wunderlich lowering kit, which gave up to 40mm movement and raised the bars above the yokes, tried to convince myself it was better and then tried and bought a GS, problem fixed. As much as I enjoyed the 1100 over th...

Some people fully deserve to be prosecuted based solely on dashcam/helmetcam footage. Take this footage for example taken on my helmet cam the week before last.

Had a think about it, and while a lot of people have carried out mods to increase the power (but mainly tractability) of the R1100s - I think I'm right in saying power remained circa 100bhp. While a bit more torque will never go wrong - I'm not convinced that this mod ends up with a worthwhile bike...

Quickly is a relative term. Took about 3.5 hours which I thought was pretty good. Nope, haven't got the clutch off yet, my back had had enough by then. So I'll look at that tomorrow. I originally thought that if it's the clutch it'll be a cheap fix,and then I looked at the price of a complete clutc...
