Re: R11S Rear Indicators - Alternatives
Curious if the standard BMW relay copes with LEDs or is a resistor required? At least copies of the R1200GS indicators are relatively cheap on eBay They need a resistor for sure. I have Gen1 S1000R indicators on mine, they are not LED but they have a smaller bulb than usual which makes them flash f...

Re: Bike stopped dead - crank sensor failed.
Just to wrap this up, new (pattern) part arrived today from Motorworks. Fitted this evening and the bike fired right up.
Glad to be back on two wheels.

Re: Bike stopped dead - crank sensor failed.
I've belled out the wiring on the sensor sub-loom, from the pins to where the wires enter the potting. No faults found in there. I don't think the problem is with the main loom because un-plugging the sensor stops the odd behaviour, plus once I pin-pointed the source of the fault I did pull the loom...

Re: Bike stopped dead - crank sensor failed.
Id on't think that the sensors themselves are that expensive, but they are potted into a plastic housing which is riveted onto a mount plate. The housing also has a magnet clipped to it. I bet if you could get those sensors out of the potting they would be a ten quid item. One thing that bothers me ...

Bike stopped dead - crank sensor failed.
Heading in tor work this morning same as usual. A few minutes into my journey the engine mis-ired, faltered, picked up, cut out for a few moments, picked up again then just died. Cranking made it pop and fart but not fire up. Eventually I gave up and got recovered home. With the ignition on the fuel...

Re: Fairing mounted mirror
When you have your glass cut to size take the mirror and put the plastic end housing into very hot (as in near boiling) water. This will cause the housing to expand and you can pop the glass in quite easily. You have just about no chance of getting it in otherwise. You might want to get the glazier ...

Re: Wanted: standard exhaust.
It's a Harris tailpiece with de-cat y-piece to go with it. When I finally get it off I'll give it a clean and post some pics. So far every single fastenert has sheared off even after heating.

We've seen the bike pics - we need to see the pics of your workshop!
It's just a modest workshop but I have a few machine tools - it's my hobby. No pics, sorry - no sense advertising stuff to all and sundry.
Pete.

Wanted: standard exhaust.
I want a standard exhaust, or at least a silencer for my 1100S. Either to buy or in trade for my nice Laser exhaust with cash adjustment.

Wanted R1100S 2003-on
I'm looking to replace my R1100s for a less tired example. Mine is approaching 100k miles and they are all hard-won miles filtering in heavy traffic. I really like the 2003/2004 grey/yellow paint job so would give preference to that. The bike doesn't need to be mint, just tidy - it'll be a work comm...

Engine for sale North Kent
I got a deal on a low mileage engine so I swapped out the 91k-mile one for a 23k mile one. Nothing fundamentally wrong with it except both rocker covers are beaten up, one when a range rover knocked it over, the other when I had a minor off a couple of years ago. I've done 50k miles on it all commut...
