I love this bike 2
Snetterton track day today, my first ever on my S and my first for about 15 yrs !! Well, I was astounded at how well the S performed. I was in the "Slow" group but there were still probably 50% track bikes out there with me, and only 2 or 3 that had, like me, ridden to the circuit. Anyway,...

Ilmberger hugger flew off :(
My Ilmberger 11s cf hugger broke just above the caliper and self destructed as it was spewed out at about 40 mph today. That'll be a couple of hundred quid to replace :( At least it didn't damage the tyre or anything as it exited scene left. Has it ever happened to anyone else, I'm sure it did it un...

Re: How long do oe throttle cables last ?
No mine have done 54k and seem fine, but I was just wondering ?
30 ( ... or 40, ahem ) yrs ago we were regularly replacing Japanese throttle cables, nowadays it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Re: servicing the 1100s, oh wot fun
I can't really see what all the fuss is about actually, the valves couldn't be easier, likewise the alternator belt, the drive train /gears is okay and once you've done it a couple of times the tank comes of in about 20 mins ( fit some quick release fuel line connectors ) for everything "up top...

Thanks for that info Pete, I'm in the workshop all day today hoping to finish my servicing, I'll give the bevel an extra careful examination.

Re: Rear drive unit meltdown!
Where exactly did the bearing play show up Pete ?
I've got mine stripped down now for the mother of all services, everything seems to feel very tight smooth and the oil was perfectly clean.
Mines done 43k now btw.

Re: Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal
Oh, I'd forgotten the cat support bracket that has to be unbolted underneath, obviously, before anything will move. I think it's three 13 mm hex bolts ? I might have missed some other steps, I'm wracking my brains .... but anyway, that's the general drift of it. Good luck , it will be worth it I'm s...

Re: Fitting decat Y piece/ cat removal
This worked for me : Remove rear whl and shock Remove number plate holder / light from the silencers I removed all rear bodywork incl indicators for better access and to prevent anything getting damaged Disconnect the lambda sensor wire at the connector on the right side of the tank ( yep the whole ...

Re: Is a paralever front end less inclined to tuck ?
Rather it was a technical query about the behaviour of a locked up telelever front end and other peoples experiences and feelings about it. It just seems to me that maybe with less front compression under heavy braking, and therefore less change to the steering geometry, perhaps skidding forwards a...

What a S*-? Qashqai advert
Implying the bird would rather be in the car than on the bike, how ridiculous is that ? They stretch credibility these advertising types don't they ? After all she's clearly a sassie, modern, leather clad, spirited young woman - so it'd be the bike every time in that weather. ( In the break just bef...

Re: Brand new Danmoto Y Piece for sale
I'm sorry but for some reason at the moment I can't pm people about the "Y" piece.
I don't know why but I've emailed admin and hope to have it cured soon.

Re: Is a paralever front end less inclined to tuck ?
Oops, very embarrassing, yes of course I meant telelever not para  I've been riding for a long time, and I can and do always relax and enjoy myself, I'm not a nervous biker seeking reassurance. Rather it was a technical query about the behaviour of a locked up telelever front end and other peo...
