Just bought a Shoei X-Spirit and am well impressed compared to the Arai Corsair . Shoei: Completely removable liners for washing - Brilliant in the summer! :D Weighs only 1325g :D Doesn't "whistle" with visor up :D Visor adjusts in fixed stages. :( Arai: Cheekpads and roof removable, to clean the re...

Paul, Good idea with the cabled helmet over the mount - I doubt if you could actually see the mount without looking closely. I must admit to having the garmin mount plugged into a bulkhead mount in the left-hand fairing, below and slightly to the left of the instruments. If I am doubtful about the s...

Good one, Gordo! Saw one in use on a GS last week but hadn't got around to searching for similar. I fancy one so that I can clean my visor etc with my right hand rather than always stretching for the chamois with my left. I had a brief trial with one of those "palm-lever" type things - okay on the o...

On the tank bag front, I simply used my oxford magnetic tank bag, by sticking some large steel washers to the underside of the fairings. No need to buy the over priced BMW jobs. Mike. BRILLIANT! Wish I'd thought of that! Only way to better it would be to glue a few magnets to the underside (right w...

I had the RAM cradle, mated with the shortest of the arms and the replacement cover for the clutch reservoir (which includes a ball for mounting the arm). I changed the RAM cradle for the official Garmin one because only the Garmin one outputs sound to a 3.5mm socket. From this you can wire it in to...

Just had mine into John Clark (Dundee) for first 6000m service - not sure if valve clearances were included but there were a couple of recall notices on the bike (to be done when time permits) Not sure if the recalls are for all R1100s or just the BCRs - an internet search might reveal the extent. O...

Al, Will try and find my Work Shop CD, as I don't have my bike as it is being repaired at Cupar's. It might take awhile as I have just moved and certain things are still in boxes. Andrew  Andrew, Thanks for that - I have the very same thing here (just never checked it). The owner's manual see...

Ah-hah! Yours must be fitted with an after-market cancelling relay! i was under the impression that all s's had self cancelling indicators (i can't speak for boxercups). my other s had self cancelling ones, as have all of my mates. apparently they run of the speedo and are set for 200 yards or so.....

Al, Have I read this wrong, are you looking for a relay to cancel your indicators. My BCr does it as standard, I thought yours should be the same. Andrew  Mine appears to indicate forever, but I know that there are timer-controlled relays that will self-cancel. But, I understand that differen...

the s seems to be the only bmw with self cancelling indicators... or at least my experience (ridden 3 types of r series). Ah-hah! Yours must be fitted with an after-market cancelling relay! They usually come with an adjustable dip-switch to alter the time that the indicators operate and a...

What happens is that if you lube the thread, when you torque it up to the recommended without lube torque then you end up overtightening it because of the lubricant. Over tightened bolts stretch and could eventually snap! yours A Lurker From experience of engine-building, If the reason was overtorq...

Turn canceller
Anyone know which Turn indicator cancelling relay fits the 1100s BoxerCup?
Recommendations on who stocks them would be appreciated also.
I get fed up cancelling manually.
Cheers!
