Re: RIOTD...

Looks like you timed that shot to perfection, Gromit. Great photo and witty too. Thanks. :) 'Started up on his six, when he pulled up through the clouds, and then I moved in above him...' Re: Photobucket Problem

News of Botophuckit's new policy has been doing the rounds on the photographic forums recently and been panned pretty much universally. I stopped using it about 3 years ago (its image quality was marginal anyway) and have used Flickr ever since. Excellent platform, simple to use and free.

Re: Lakeland

Thanks Al. The photo of misty Borrowdale was from travelling back from a tour of the Honister Slate Mine. The weather was pretty miserable on that day, but driving back to Ambleside this view opened up so was just too good to miss. The shots from Haystacks were taken on the sunday where our Emma (ag...

Domestic CCTV

Crime is almost unheard of in our village - one of the reasons we love living here - but in the small hours of last friday, my car had 2 of its windows smashed. The car was parked in front of the house, on our drive. It looks like he was chucking stones at the back of our new car as well, judging by...

Lakeland

Grabbed a few days in the Lakes during the recent half-term break. Having fallen in love with the Lake District over 30 years ago, we try to visit as often as possible. I've been very lucky to have travelled to many wonderful places in the this world, but they still don't - for me - get near to the ...

Re: Sad News

There's nothing I can really add to what Steve says in the OP - such terribly sad news. No parent should have to endure the passing of their offspring - and as Fontana says, this really puts the 'trivial' problems in the world into perspective.

Sleep well, Jackie.

Re: Cadwell...

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. :) All ok here - was great to meet up with Paul today and of course visit the 'local' track. Some wonderful memories of watching the racing here in the early-mid 80's when I was first stationed at Cranwell. Did a couple of bike trackdays here (when I had my first 1...

Cadwell...

No, not me riding, but met up with Paul at Cadwell this morning. Was great to catch up briefly on such a gorgeous day, the circuit looking as beautiful as ever in the sunshine: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4189/34288201812_78f6dc8d43_b.jpg Cadwell Park by Boxertrixter , on Flickr https://c1.staticf...

Re: In Crown court tomorrow.

Apologies, Pete - only just read your OP. Just wanted to re-iterate the positive comments by those in the thread, and here's hoping that this dreadful episode can be filed away, and not rear its shocking, ugly head again. A huge amount of admiration to your wife, of course - this takes real b...

Re: Crazy cop bike chase

The bike at 0:30" is a ZZR1400 - the one which was being chased is a cruiser, you can easliy see that when the guy loses it near the end. Huge back tyre, stretched pegs etc.
