I seem to remember they filled the tank from underneath - upside down - to get as much in as possible and swapped tanks at the pit stop?
Tanks all run under the seat now so that would not work on today's bikes.

Great post, I'll put it down as one good thing to come from lockdown. Fuel would be the issue. Max 24 litre tank allowed so the question is would you do a lap on 8 litres , i.e. 38mpg. Seems a bit optimistic. I do recall a 3 lap lightweight race where various teams were considering a no pit stop str...

Pretty sure this was the same guy offering these at £425 in November - optimist obviously How many still on the road ? Of those how many would be used as tourers ? Of those how many would be happy with seat bag or sw motech tail pack ? Small market and high price . Bets of luck to him but not could ...

WANTED BMW pannier look shims
As a 500 + poster ( ahem ... ) I am looking for some help.
I have a BMW R1200RS and just acquired some BMW OE panniers. But I need some Number 3 shims for the locks. I have got loads of 1 and 2 s so happy to swap if need be.
If anyone can assist ( i need 6 then please let me know)

Crikey - my name on something - gotta buy one of those for when I get forgetful :D :D :D Well done Paul ( and those that started this great and friendly forum) Had an R1100RS late 1990s - querky but got to love it Bought my first R1100S in 2002- ish . Lovely Bumbleee Went away in 2006 - back in 2009...

The OE riding position has to be one of the lest comfortable ever made ( and the R1200S was a contender). That looks a high quality conversion, presumably longer cables to match
