I've never done pannier rails, but sprayed up a pair of 1100S cylinder head guards and they came up like new.

Fine sand and then spray with several thin coats of Satin Black as mentioned by others :D

Cheers

I'll also be sorry to see you go as well, I looked forward to meeting both you and Hannah at the various Boxertrix weekends. I understand your reasoning and it's clear to see that you enjoy your new sports which will certainly keep you in good health. I seem to be going the other way and wanting to ...

Twin Room at WP

Just had to cancel a twin bedded room at the WP, as one of the rooms I had booked for a couple of mates is no longer needed. Instead of 2 mates it has grown to 3, so he has booked them into a family room directly with the hotel and only just informed me. Steve, that's another one to add to the growi...

That's correct RICHARD, you have to submit your claim for additional hotels/fuel/tolls/expenses en route back to Calais. They will also refund the return section of your ticket, but you have to fork out first and then claim back retrospectively! We came back over the Channel with P&O Ferries and...

Excellent Accomodation for Normand, France

Just had a fantastic week over in France and can highly recommend the following as an ideal base for touring the Normandy region of France, or as a stop over heading South/returning North. http://www.maisonlaudiere.com/index.html It is owned by Nigel and Carole and they offer fantastic hospitality, ...

Just had the same issue with Brittany Ferries last Friday night, should have been on the Caen - Portsmouth overnight crossing, cancelled due to industrial action  ! Hotel over night then a Le Mans style start (at least 10 bikes) from the hotel heading up to Calais and then Dover to home on the...

Hi Steve I've done two on my bog standard 2004 R1100S at Oulton Park, still complete with cat and it still left loads of the Jap, straight line speed merchants for dead. I always just have the standard suspension set fairly hard, reduce tyre the pressures a bit and off I go! Lots of people on the fo...

I've never had a bike or anything similar stolen, but would agree 100% with Winger about the CCTV camera. I had loads of bother when I landscaped my front gardens with damage to and theft of plants/trees etc. Tried all sorts, including getting a grip of a few of the teenage tossers, but as soon as I...

Sorry to hear about that Paul, it's bad news anytime, but particularly after you've put all the extra money and effort into the bike. Presumably targeted whilst you were not home, as I don't think they'd have been that brave if there was a chance of you getting to grips with any of them! Hope you ge...
