Hope he was ok?

Yes, it was a low-speed tumble on my sat-nav's 'imaginative' route

That was my pal Richard's, it had a slight mishap on the way up.

Apart from the stunning duct tape finish, it also had a gun-gummed alternator cover, but it made it home OK.

I've been there.

For whatever reason, the O-rings in the rebuild kits are too thin, which causes leaks.

You need to buy some thicker ones, but be careful to get the correct material.

Don't use superglue, it's sh!te and won't last.

Use some lacquer or clear nail varnish instead.

I had an 1100RT which displayed similar symptoms. It eventually turned out that the alarm had been wired incorrectly.

You could try Simpson Motorsport , they do a lot of carbon repairs, albeit on cars - F40s and the like.

Their rates are reasonable, and they're close (ish) to you.

You're better off with something you can make squirm, better a bike you can thrash than vice versa. Right now I'm preferring my 37bhp GS to my 6000bhp gixxer. Is a GS just a normal bike with built-in zimmer frame, am I getting old, or are the roads just too crowded? Answers on a postcard to archie. ...
