R1100S for sale

Postby Carts » Sat Jan 26, 2019 8:56 pm

Hi all, long time since posting here, looking at selling my R1100S this spring and just getting feed back if anybody here is interested. Getting a new bike and haven’t been using the R1100S to Justify keeping it.

The bike was brought from this sit over 10 years ago  , time flys. It is a 2003 Randy Mamola boxer cup. Looking if any interest here as bike quite farkled

Lazer exhaust
Decay
Lennie air intake
San Jose air filter
Lennie can
Power commander
Whilbers front and rear
Painners with colour matched lids
City lids
Baglux tank cover
Baglux seat bag
Front and rear bike stands
Plus other bits

Mileage is circa 35k
Condition good
Engine cases though now are getting a little tired

So just seeing if any interest, usually people on forums usually have a bike already?

Cheers
Dave

Give us a clue about the price you need please?

For sale rules:

2. Ads which simply state 'offers' or 'please pm me for price' etc will be removed. All sellers should know how much they wish to get for an item, so please state it in the ad. If really not sure, just do a search on eBay under completed listings.

Not unreasonable................

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone paying premium for the BCR paint-job, perhaps 500-1000 above normal price.

I struggled selling mine (normal) and that had much less mileage, ohlins shocks, remus full system, basically all extras, and that was advertised for 3350,-

Considering the BCR is the same as a basic machine with a taller rear shock if someone wants the paint job it would probably be in the regions of 600 to have one re-sprayed, plus stickers, hence my indication above. I wonder if anyone ever paid 6k for an R11S, advertised price and sold for price are two different things.

Checking ebay sold listings on auction is probably the best indication.

It is a Mamola BoxerCup - they do go for a premium.

(No indication if single or twin-spark model, though)

Yep agree that BCR is only a paint job over standard model. And what people advertise for and what they get are very different.

Selling the bike is ether to somebody who wants a cheep bmw or computer or somebody who want a BCR and understand the extras on the bike, I feel only people who have a R1100S or on this site know the difference in the farckles added. Selling on autotrader I don’t feel anyone will understand the extras, the other options is to strip of all the extras and sell bike as standard then sell parts on here.

That’s why I posted on here, but I feel anyone with a BCR doesn’t want another.

I am just trying to work out my options if bike only worth £3K I may try and store it somewhere as feel the value of the bike will go up in a number of years

Possibly tidy up the tired engine paint and hang on to it - mines suffering the same. The bike runs sweet as a sweet thing but the engine, yokes and rear sub frame let it down so the bits are going in the sand blasting cabinet and getting ready to be sprayed. When my GS was in at Barrie Robson's for service we had a chat about tidying it up and he advised me against powder coating as the people who wanted a BoxerCup would want it standard and powder coating isn't standard. So, maybe a tidy up and return to standard and sell the other farkles here?

Cheers all, yep it may be an option, stripping it down and selling standard, but preference would be to sell it hole. Not to sure the economic of doing to much to bike apart from cosmetic if selling.

There is a couple of other avenues I’m looking at, see what happens there

Dave
