Has the time come??

Hi all, Well it does seem that i'm back into biking but as retirement beckons maybe I need something smaller/lighter so my R1200s might just be up for sale. Never ever thought I would be doing this but pointless just having it in the garage gathering dust. 2006 non ABS 1200s with all the right bits--Ohlins,6 inch rear wheel,Remus non cat headers, Zard end can, BMW panniers and tank bag, BMW tinted screen & heated grips. And now for the bad bits 86000 miles(enjoyed every one of them) --wheels need powder coating, forks need paint and the engine needs some black paint. Spent far too much time trying to upload images with no luck but can send pis via text. Any interest??

I`m interested to know what you have your eyes on?

A new bike... how EXCITING!! The best thing a man can look forward to.

Good luck with the transition. Your 12 s certainly runs well, i can vouch for that.

Chris

Hi Chris, Had a demo on an F900 XR this morning. Could live with one of those I think. Plenty quick enough for me these days and felt very sure footed in the twistys. We shall see.

Hi Peter good luck with the sale of the 12s, although it would have been nice to ride with you on it one more time.

Hi Phil, its not gone yet, still thinking about it! Make more money if i break it but don't really want to do that. Might think about selling some bits separately (end can/panniers) judging by the trade offer.
Think i would let it go with all the bits for around £1500 so someone could end up with a nice tidy bike for around 2k.

That sounds like a bargain for someone, it looked like a nice bike when I met you on it the other week.

Aside from the very different riding position how did you find the power difference on the XR to the 1200S. And how much did the dealer offer trade in?!

Pete, £1600 :|

You could do better. For sure. Punt it on auto trader. You only get one chance of selling it.

Breaking sounds a good plan. labour intensive I know, but you`re part of the "Everyday a Saturday Club"

Envious Chris.

Jez,
Riding the way I do these days and using the roads I prefer to ride I didn't notice any real difference in power between the 2 bikes, Xr 900 has more than enough get up and go for me and I certainly dont need or want the 165 bhp Xr 1000. Chris whilst I may have the time to break the S do I really want to be left with a pile of bits. Decision to sell has been difficult enough but time for a new toy for retirement I think.

Pete, thanks. I was planning to take a test ride on the 900XR but the local demo bike was crashed by someone else and the dealer replaced it with a very low seat version. I'll get a ride on one sometime.

Hello,

I have been searching for a genuine BMW R1200S tank bag for a while. Would you be interested in selling it to me? If so perhaps PM me with a delivered price.

Otherwise good luck with the sale.

Best regards,

David

Hi Peter, why not go and have a look at the Guzzi V85TT. I've had mine for 16months now, absolutely love it.

Steve.
