***SOLD***2013 1200 RT SE, 9k miles.

Postby milleplod » Thu Nov 05, 2020 6:41 am

It's with a heavy heart that I'm advertising this lovely bike, but, after my collision earlier this year with an HGV, I've decided to hang up my boots after 40-odd years of riding.

First registered to BMW, this bike was bought straight from the showroom by the chap I got it from back in July. It's done under 10k miles - no corrosion, all the extras bar the radio setup, and everything works just as it should. The dealer fitted the heated, one-piece 'comfort' seat, which really is a revelation compared to the standard one. It's not the low version btw.

The bike was serviced by BMW up until 5550 miles in March of 2015.
MoT history shows the mileage as follows -

Sept. 2016 - 8401 mls

Feb. 2018 - 8580 mls

Apr. 2019 - 8789 mls

Mar. 2020 - 8939 mls.

The bike was home-serviced over this period - there are no receipts unfortunately, but when I serviced it at 9312 mls in the last month, the air filter looked brand new, as did the final drive and gearbox oils, so I've no doubt whatsoever that servicing was done. I also dropped the rear drive to check and grease the splines - it was like new in there, probably better as there was plenty of grease and not a trace of corrosion or moisture. I also fitted stainless brake pad pins front and rear.

There's a satnav mount above the instruments, currently fitted with a Tom Tom powered holder. I have a Rider 40 to go with the bike if I get the price I want.

The panniers were fitted with flexible, clear protection from new. Some scuffs are visible on the protectors, but the paint underneath will be like new. I have the genuine inner pannier bags, plus a good-quality aftermarket one for the topbox. All 3 boxes use the ignition key. There's an Autocom unit under the seat - I've never used it, and it will need someone who knows what they're doing to recommission it I think, as when I bought the bike it was connected in to a Garmin 660 that had been fitted by the dealer - I removed that in favour of the Rider 40, meaning there are now a few redundant connections taped up around the headstock.

I fitted genuine head protectors when I bought the bike, not shown in the photos. Tyres are almost new PR4 GTs.

This is a genuinely lovely bike, it really is. There might be the odd, tiny little mark to be found (it's done almost 10k miles, after all),but nothing that catches the eye.

I'm in Derbyshire, near to junctions 29/30 of the M1.

£7495 ovno.

Pete

That's a stunning clearly loved and well cared for machine.

I'm sure you'll miss it once sold. Good luck with the sale.

You won't know if it's the right decision until you make it and you can always get another bike if you change your mind.
I spent three years thinking "I miss it, but I don't know if I ever will" until throwing my leg over again.
All the best..
