Chris,

I've sent of to Germany for some carbon fibre buttons

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

We could cut and paste but tbh can't see how it'd really work (you're using my own personal bandwidth here!), and where would one store such a vast library of complete and utter bollox? Give this place 6 months and it'll have its own highly valuable stash of diamond-studded gems. :)

Avatars - how do I get it to the right size?

Postby black99S » Thu Feb 19, 2004 10:09 pm

I've got the picture I want to be an Avatar, just can't figure how to get it to the required 80x80 pixels and <6kb. Is there a simple solution?

Open the pic in any editing software, choose resize, select 80 pixels and then 'save as' - don't save or you'll overwrite your original pic.

I tend to open the pic up with microsoft paint, then re-size so it's a lot smaller (bit hit and miss I know, but easy enough). Then 'save as' - upload to a host then copy and pate the url into the avatar box in your profile.

Use a graphics program for resizing, something like Paint Shop Pro and the like. If you haven't access to one send it over and I'll do it for you.

Great stuff, should be loads better than Yahoo. Thanks for all the hard work and effort that's gone into it.
