I never purchased a camera until the 90's, but this very poor newspaper cutting was presented to me recently. I was sure it had been lost... no exotic locations , just the MZ distributor presenting me with, erm... an em zed

I was tearing around on my Honda CB 100 in 1979 Nigel. An MZ 150 , I remember PYE in Dundrum.

Dundrum has changed just a tad in recent years..
The CB100 , I did consider one but cam/head problems put me off. I did lust after the Yam RS 125 but they were shockingly expensive , so I ended up with an MZ 125 (after two years of summer graft) and soon after won the 150 8). The entry form for the competition was given to me by a friend who rode a C50 step through but "wouldn't be seen on an MZ" :?

I always had a soft spot for the TRX , ( a thinking mans TDM) although I've never ridden either :? . How did you get on with it?

We did loads of miles on our TRX - 2 up and with luggage.

But it was an uncomfortable experience.

Then I tried a Ducati 750SS back to back with my TRX (friend's bike over in France)... and realised the TRX was a very poor copy.

The 270 degree engine is pretty decent, and works well in the TDM850 and 900.

That was the year I started riding.
I remember that the RD250LC was the bike that single handedly got the law changed restricting learners to 125's
I was going to buy one but a friend persuaded me to get a Honda 250 Superdream instead, which I reckon is the reason I'm still riding today.
I ruined that bike by fitting a Rickman tempest full fairing.

Now this is what the well dressed Bobtail used to look like many, many moons ago.

Check out the Frank Thomas boots and jacket the obligatory white 'kerchief and of course the very cool pose. If I remember correctly somewhere in south of France. No Beemer in those days my preferred steed was a Honda CB1100 with a very naughty bar shake at any speed over the ton, what

Anybody else out there got some similar cool poses then, I dare you!

P.S. sorry for the quality this was taken well before the present generation of cameras were even a twinkle in the Olympus eye so it's an old pic scanned.
Cool you`re looking really trendy  Is that Brantome,Dordogne?
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)

started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

Me and a previous g/f with one of my company bikes .... one I particularly loved (the bike ... well both of them I guess  )

Thing is the press slammed the GPZ1000RX in favour of the GPZ900, personally I couldn't stand the GPZ900.

I think it's probably circa 1986/7

This is at the cafe down the road from Dinas Mawddwy around 1990, I'm the one stood behind my K100RS on the right. My uncle, who owned the R90S and R69 I've previously posted pics of is stood next to me.

His R80RS is behind the ZXR750, and is the R80RS I currently own

I was a racing snake back then :) .. should never have quit smoking ;)

Oh, those handlebars… nowadays, they seem just weird. But I remember, in those days: I just loved them!

If that was your usual riding position you needed those bars!

Yes, at Volvo Penta. I worked as a mechanic, at the transmission-and component testing lab. Worked mostly with fabricating one-off prototype parts, and building fixtures for test rigs.
Loved the job, but got laid off (finantial crisis) three months after the pic was taken. :(

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this photo was that you worked as the Volvo crash test dummy...
