last October saw some track action in Calafat in Spain, I thought I'd share some photos, and add in the race bike I just bought... I was thinking to join Gus (from the forum here) in the Boxercup series, but having ridden a bunch of 2 strokes, I decided to relive my yoof, and go back to 'stink wheels'

I just picked up this Yamaha RD350, it's running a YPVS motor and is made to look like a 'Fag packet' French series bike... plan is to run it in the Catalan classic series this year...

Image

I got to ride this 350 Bultaco at Calafat, it belongs to Freddies racing, and is the bike used in the endurance series, the motor is quite rare as it's a MX barrel, with the GP bottom end (this is translated Spanish!) it's a quick little bike, I had a lot of fun on that, it does make you realise how the ride position differs from today, and how 'locked in' you are.. the guy on the #93 bike is Eammon Cleere, Eammon was British 250 champ back in the early 80's, raced GP's and Endurance for Suzuki, and was Kevin Schwanz race engineer...

I also got to ride the Honda Moto 3 bike, truly stunning to ride, I need to lose about 2 kilo's and about 40 years to be fast on it, but an amazing experience

Image

anyway, I thought I'd share... as it's 30+ years since I owned/fettled a race engine, I'm off to buy main jets, 2 stroke oil and some measuring jugs..

Hi Ty
Nice one!!!
Had a few LC, s in my youth including a power valve n1.
Your bike looks well sorted.
Keep the clutch lever covered and enjoy the racing.
All the best

Wow !

I love the LC ....

I was fortunate enough to win a Hillclimb Championship back in 1985 on my 350 LC ....

I just love 2 smoke race bikes ....

I hope you have a lot of fun and good success .

Please keep us informed as the year goes on .

I guess I'm about to mount up for a run ...

I wish I could claim the starter as mine, but it belongs to the guy I bought the bike from, it's a Vespa engine mounted in a frame, it's pure genius! If I have more pictures I'll post one..

I personally think any bike up to 500 cc should be two stroke :)

That looks great fun! Good on you for getting into it.

I remember following a 2-stroke on sighting laps on a trackday a few years back and immediately regretting it. I couldn't see a thing

Just bought a track focused bike to take the strain off the BCR but it's nowhere near as interesting as yours
