It's my bike but it's not my house
I must try to make it to one of the meet ups (if the ferries ever sail again in this weather)
I can't believe I've owned the S over 3 years now....

So, after taking the long way home a few times last week I finally (or rather the bike ) rattled and clunked its way to 100k miles (although I have developed a few rattles and creaks myself along the way. .) Purchased late in 2003 (I got the maths wrong in earlier posts :? ) with 14k miles clocked ,I added a lot of mileage in the earlier years but fell out of favour for a bit along the way , in the last year though, I made an effort to use my S a lot more .
The last week or so I was sure those rattles and clunks had developed into terminally sounding noises although i'm glad to be proved wrong...

Looking a bit more dishevelled than it did ten years ago

Nice one. Not many get to put 100k on their bike (well most of it). How do you rate it, any troubles etc. recommends or not as the case might be.

No real troubles , I guess , although I did post up somewhere what I had had fitted in consumables / parts. Front wheel disc mounting posts were chewed up , and although it's fixable I couldn't get anyone local to do the job , so a front wheel was the biggest expense .
It has probably been the best biking purchase I ever made , Telelever being my favourite item . It really is agricultural beside Jap stuff , and especially beside my '90 VFR  but I guess that's called character.
Knowing what I know now I would probably do the same again if I wound back the clock.

Great stuff Nigel - congrats to you and the bike. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing the BB doing something similar in 23k miles or so but at present miles/year it'll tale me 10 years to reach it.

My S is the only bike I have with an mph speedo , Change your clocks to KM'S, they clock up a lot quicker..

Ha! If I took the GT to 100,000 miles, how many trips back to the dealer do think it would need?

So far, it's on 6 in 2000 miles.....

Well done.

It's one of the attractions of the 11 S , with the help of all on here and the www in general, I've never handed cash to the dealer for anything other than parts.... I did find myself looking longingly  at a reasonably priced ST recently but then thought the better of it
