Gus

Looks good...

but...

I reckon it would have looked better still with a red nose piece instead of the white :D

Swingarm is painted with plastikote satin enamel(sprayed). This held up quite well, but i will eventually get around to having it powder coated.

I wouldnt be able to take all the rudolph jokes.
I kinda like it,not alot but i like it.Would not be a big deal to respray if the need arises.Hopefully the white nose will make me a bit more noticable to the stevie wonder/ray charles type drivers.

Something along the lines of the varying colours you see are varying frequencies of light whereas black is obviously not light... no light = no colour.

However, this all becomes total bollox when it comes to paint. For instance, primary paint colours are red, yellow and blue; primary light colours are magenta (pink), yellow (err... yellow) and cyan (light blue)

I'm sure you'll sleep better for knowing that.

Primary light colours are red, green and blue, while those used in subtractive colour mixing are yellow, magenta and cyan.

I stand corrected... hence RGB.. doh!... what the hell is 'subtractive' colour mixing?

Additive

Rays of light are direct light, whereas the colour of paint is reflected light. Colour from light combines and forms new visual sensations, this is additive colour. Lights projected from different sources mix according to the additive method.Overlapping, thus mixing, the three primaries, red, green, and blue in this manner results in white, yellow, cyan, and magenta. Absence of light results in black. Cyan, magenta and yellow are the photographic primary colours and are used to create separations for photographic and ink colour printing.

Subtractive

Pigments combine in the subtractive system. Blue paint is "blue" because when light hits its surface the pigment absorbs (or "subtracts") all of the colour spectrum except the blue that is reflected to our eyes. Artists that work with physical media are concerned with the subtractive method since they work primarily in pigments.
