Cleaning up the 11s

Postby Ronwash80 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 9:37 pm

I'm starting to clean up my Moto repainting, polishing and degrease and I haven't found an effective way to get all of the grease and grime off of the cylinders jugs and fins. Any suggestions that don't have to do with repainting?

I have not really found any short cuts when it comes to getting between the fins.

I use a small bottle brush and Muc-Off with lots of patience.

Only I get to touch my bike, the slave, sorry teenaged son, has to mow the lawns and wash the cars plus various other odd jobs which frees me up for more interesting things.

Personal assistant to breadwinner (dog)

Chief bread spender (wife)

I'd steer clear of alloy wheel cleaner - it is very aggressive.

Could be worth getting major comoponents - ultrasonically cleaned?

good old white spirits good . very overlooked as a cleaner , its ace at tar spots , then soapy water with a shot of meths and a dash of vinegar ,,, but its the elbow grease that makes the difference.
its not a boxer , its a 180 degree v-twin
