Struck a good deal with the bike shop, and as a result there's a nice new set of Motad headers in place...

They'd got a set of hardly-used ones from a Fireblade (which, along with the Fi Blackbirds) uses identical discs so we fitted those and they work absolutely fine.

All in all, it's turned out ok - got the Motad at cost price, and it was fitted FoC. No bad thing as it's a b*tch of a job on a VFR.

My other bike is.....the same as Gromit's. Going to take some pics of it later and try (again!!!) to post them. Virtually same spec - 18 000 mile in standard trim and with Givi panniers which can be used as a top box - ideal for my get to work bike!!

Spent this morning out in the sunshine giving the bike a bodywork-off clean. It's not looking too bad under there for 14 years old - Honda's build quality very much in evidence. Shame about the blemish on the clutch cover though.

Very nice , I think I'm going to have to go black wheels with my 750 , after my brief fling with white (needs tyres shortly)

Nigel - doesn't your 750 have white wheels as standard? I guess thie question is do you want to keep it original, or go for something which will a. be easier to keep looking clean and b. look good too.

I'm 99% happy with my 800 - it's in extremely clean condition (bar a couple of scratches here & there) but the replacement r/h brake disc is another warped one. Not as bad as the original but if you ride along at 30 mph and look down at the top of the brake caliper through the gap in the fairing, it's possible to see it pulsating in and out as it follows the warp in the disc. The brakes work fine, and the pistons aren't seized as pushing the bike around the drive at home, the brakes apply and release with no binding whatsoever. I've re-greased all the caliper sliding pins which are all in perfect condition.

Mine are white as original but although I don't use it much the wheels are nearly always black... Hope you get sorted with the disc.

I'd buy that in a fl;ash, specially with the stainless front pipes. Had one and they handle extremely well, go really well and let me know if you sell it :)

That is cleaner than mine (I think) I'll be pulling the fairing panels off early next week and changing the oil. The downpipes on mine are skanky and I'll be putting some of those on (Motad?) or possibly a local mechanic will as thew studs look grotty and see them posing a problem
