Nowhere near the performance of the KGT, but the fairing is more effective, and despite being heavier feels lighter I guess because of the boxer engines natural low CoG. Despite itself the KGT is still my fave touring package with its mix of loony performance with touring accoutrements :D

Not as nimble as the little F8GS but far more mid range grunt.

Not as sporty as the BCR but far more comfy :)

Not as much "boxer" character as the R80 but light years of advancements and it shows :D

Nope I bought it off a customer who needed to release the cash and as such got it very um reasonably ;) It desperately needs a pair of new tyres, previous owner was a very steady rider and has flattened off the tyres so they feel square and yuck, work has said I can have BMW AUB warranty at cost too, so paranoia will make me get that when the existing BMW warranty ends in June

I still have the K, and love it to bits :D ... hell it's a new bike! :D

BMbler - you might say its ugly.

But I have now had test rides on the R1200RS, S1000XR, R1200GS and the R1200RT and I really surprised myself because of all of them I like the RT the most.
How bonkers is that for someone who spent his biking life with clip-ons and rearsets?

I nearly bought a new RS last year but then got the R1200S from Andy Griff.

Old age and decreptitude is taking its toll and I now want to enjoy riding without having to take painkillers every 3 hours so my hips, knees and back don't ruin the enjoyment.
Sit up and beg position with a huge touring fairing is the next thing I want to try - just to see if I can get on with it.
Damn whether its ugly or not - it might become a neccessity.
