yet another 11S

Postby big rob » Sun Sep 15, 2019 5:07 pm

Aye, have been looking for a cheap-ish bike for some escapism during the l-o-n-g winter. I had already viewed and made cheeky offers on a 650 Bandit and a TDM 900 (both of which were declined). Last thing I expected to find was a 2003 BMW R1100S for the smallish budget I had, saw this bike advertised on Plumtree and it was only 120-miles from where we live. When I contacted seller he explained why he was selling bike cheap; V5 stated:- "This vehicle has been salvaged because cost of commercial repair was more than the value of the vehicle"
Went to see bike and it was rough! engine & gearbox were sweet though, so made cheeky offer and after a wee haggle we shook hands.
I already had a lot of spares in my garage, sourced other stuff from Ebay, a quick respray by a good friend and this is the result.
A big thank you to fellow Trixter Al who was very helpful.
Put new tyres on bike yesterday (tyres on bike were 12-years old  ) went for a quick blast up to Glenshee this afternoon, spotted herd of Red Deer on hillside (see 2nd pic)

Nice to see a rough bike restored to a nice usable hack. Looks too nice for winter though!

Very smart re-spray, much nicer than the factory "DDP" red. A couple of strategically placed Boxertrix stickers would just finish it off nicely. Drop me a PM with your address and I'll bung a couple in the post to you.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
