Very nice could only have been bettered by a 1200GS

Mind you the red ones are the fastest but VERY rare

Our trip to Spain is in June will be Portsmouth Bilbao then through the Picos & Pyranees and back through France via the Gorge du Tarn & Milau bridge.

May then go on to Garmish for the mega BMW meet.

Cant wait really excited will be the big 50 half way through the trip.

Funnily enough.....(NOT to be read by SWMBO!)

I've been idly considering my options when the K12 gets traded in, it's up to 65K, and the only thing that could be bettered would be the wind protection for year round riding. That rules out the GS and a 1150/1200RT is definitely in the frame! Let me know how yours performs will you?

Bob,

We are going on 11th of May, catching the Portsmouth Bilbao ferry then over the Pyrenees to the Lot region of France (Milau Bridge). Spend 4 days there then back over the Pyrenees and ferry back, total of 9 days.

Could have gone the GS route, but far too common, especially the red one's.

Will do Huw, will do a post on how it went after the trip in May. I used to ride the R1100RT in the job so know who well they handle and offer excellent protection.

If I could get away with more bike trips abroad, I would definatley add one of those to my garage.
Nice bike mate.

Common

Show me the proof :?:

Thought about the round trip on the ferry but then the thought of possibly Garmish and a couple of mates who live nearer to the northern coast made my decision to do a one way.

Would be intersested to see/discuss youre planned route.

Bob

(ps my only other choice after the 1100s was the Gs or an 1150rt dont like the 1200rt or the 1200st  )

Bob,

I bought myself a load of Michelin maps to add to the load I already have. I will send you a P/M with my phone number and we can have a chat about routes.

Thanks for all the comments about the bike. Steve I hadn't picked it up from Devizes by then, did 850 mile round trip to collect it yesterday using my car and bike trailer.

I thought 'walls have ears' was just something to make us to be aware about what we say. But look just past the rear wheel on picture three.
Andrew ... is that the other half keeping track of you when you are outside tinkering with the bike?
