Nice and shiny until I went bog-trotting over the Moors tonight

And together with the outgoing one:

Upgraded the brakes for nice English kit from Hope before it left the shop:

And what's great is that it is subsidised through the company and the tax man on a cyclescheme so I get a tax deduction. I just have to commute on it a little bit..

Does it have ABS?
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Where's the centre stand? Where do the panniers fix to? Doesn't look very practical to me, they won't sell many.

:x Phillistines!

It's only used for the equivalent of track days (or is that green-laning?) and stunting. This is definitely not a sports-tourer.

If it was made by the Bavarian Wunder-Mensch it would probably have the brake and gear levers reversed, or something.

You may well be right about the levers. I was on holiday in Saas Fee in Switzerland last week and hired MTBs with my oldest boy. It wasn't until descending down some hairy tracks that we discovered that the levers are indeed reversed over the conventional arrangement here.
