Its a bit tatty round teh edges but so am I.
Intending to sort it over Winter.
Had a quick check o dyno run today and its putting out 173.17 bhp at rear wheel, about 6 down on quoted. Considering its on old fuel and hasnt had a service for a while its about on the money.
Guy reckons it could do with valve clearances doing and maybe plugs and filter.

What's been done to it for it to make 173hp at the wheel? Stock blackbirds are lucky to make 150 at the wheel.

Stock Blackbirds generally make 135-140 at teh wheel unless power commander cans and filter are fitted, then close to 150

This is a V&M cbr 1200
CArillo conrods, 13 to 1 compression, different cams, 1200cc, full akra etc etc
Only 25 were made of a planned 50, for teh Honda 50th anniversary in 1998. Crank power is 200 bhp or there abouts

8)

Sounds like the carbs may need balancing - I recently balanced mine, which stopped the very slight 'hunting' just above idle in low gears/low engine load. Runs perefectly now.

How many miles has yours done?
