And another one

Postby SP250 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 3:26 pm

Hello all

Had my R1100S from new in 2001 with luggage and heated grips. The only mods are a BCR paralever link and bagster tank cover.
Its the yellow and silver one with about 25,000 on her now. Not done many miles over the last few years but done a couple of thousand mucking around this summer so far.
Used to do the "ring" a number of times a year after I stopped racing and now want to do some long distance touring trips once I get the high bars on to sort out the arthritis.
Joined here as I saw a few people posting about the roads I frequent in North Wales and up at the Ponderosa which is only half an hour's ride.
Oh and for some sensible advice.

Cheers John M

Hi John.

Welcome.

You can place the clipons above the top yoke in no time at all.

You will need longer brake hoses though. I bought mine from Venhill and would recommend +60mm over the standard kit.

Thanks Gary

I found that out on here but I have some tasty fully adjustable CNC clip-ons I took off my trackday GSXR 1000 when I sold it. Also have the Ohlins rear shock which is the same fit as the BM as well so that will be going on too.

Cheers John

Precisely, book a room John and stop over for the group dinner with a glass of sherry or two too :)

Book a room?
I only live 25 minutes away!
Will see if the finances can stand it nearer to the time, but will definitely sign up for the dinner and rides as long as you all promise not to ride like the BMW club members!

I only live up the road, but it means I can partake of a drink or two at teh evening dinner so I stop over on the Saturday evening

Sorry but we don't allow that kind of language here, We stick to all speed limits on group rides  and everyone uses Hi Viz clothing
