Flying carpet
Hi, I have owned my fair share of Japanese and Italian high horse power sports bikes and while they are all great fun you eventually get to a point where all that soulessnes just isn't enough. Being a fan of twins and quirkiness I some how ended up with a serious desire for an R1200s. not exactly many about though is there.
Eventually one that ticked all the boxes (pun) turned up locally and last weekend I very nervously picked it up still not a 100% that I was going to get on with it.
I needn't have worried. As I'm sure you all already know, it is brilliant!!!
The ride is completely different from anything i've ever ridden. While I've read that the telelever gets mixed reviews, I for one think it's very good so smooth. Thats why I've nicknamed mine the "Flying Carpet"
While the Boxer motor produces a very reasonable punch, it makes a far more suitable road bike then anything I've ever owned and is something I should have bought years ago.
Please excuse my rambling but I reckon you need to own one to appreciate one and I'm pretty sure some of my friends think I've lost the plot.
Had to wait a whole week for some nice weather just to get a decent photo.

Not sure how Japanese and Italian high power sports bikes can be lumped together. Japanese ,soulness, definitely, But Italian? No way.
Anyway welcome to Boxertrix and the wonderful and whacky world of our favourite bikes.

Welcome to your new online home, and what a beautiful bike to join in with, loads of helpful people on here and non of that ego-shit that some other forums are festered with.
Oh and black is definitely the best colour until they invent something darker

Sorry - forgot to add a welcome before.......
Great site this, lots of advice (and opinion ) and good meet-ups during the year (weekends - around the country)
The Wales weekend should be do-able from your location?
