New R1100s owner

Postby Ian in Higham » Tue Jun 26, 2018 6:51 am

Morning all,

Thanks for approving me into the forum.

I picked up my 2001 R1100S on Saturday for a song and over the moon with it, but have a couple of questions that you may be able to help with.

The bike has had a fall and requires the black right hand indicator pod the hold the indicator any idea the best place to source in the UK ? also I don't have a centre stand can anyone recommend a paddock stand for the rear or centre?

Many thanks Ian

Welcome Ian. If you are looking for bits, try motorworks

All the best,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

ABBA stands work ok and you can put a scissor jack under the engine to lift the front as well to get both wheels out(unless you have a belly pan).
James Sherlock are also an alternative source for parts.

Welcome along. +1 for Motorworks for the pod. Be careful when fitting it - as I was told breathe on the screws and no more. Search on the forum re removing the pods - it isn't just the outside screws.
Motorworks do a stand by Boxerdesign which works well. Need to put some wood underneath if your bike has been modded to be as high as the later Boxercups
