Finally got an R1100S

Postby timf4750 » Wed Jan 30, 2019 8:17 pm

Hi all.
I recently found a letter and brochure from BMW following a test ride on an R1100S in 2002... and now I own a 21k mile '99 Mandarin version. Really clean with a nice bit of history but no heated grips or luggage. However, I was delighted to find it had the GPR Tri silencers fitted as they weren't even mentioned in the ad.
Anyway, I've just managed to pick up a used BMW carbon belly pan and it's got me thinking of the possibility of turning it into either a Boxer Cup rep or an endurance race rep. I'm in no rush but it's an idea. Out of interest does anyone know of a supplier for carbon head covers for the 4 spark version? There seems to be plenty for the 2 spark.
Cheers,
Tim.

Welcome - I wouldn't attempt an Boxer Cup rep as then it would be a Boxer Cup rep rep. Personally if you wanted to change it, I would go for something individual. Try searching the pics on here for inspiration. There are sometimes head covers on the Bay from USA but not sure on prices. Genuine head covers are VERY expensive
