John, from Spain / Leeds

Postby john-freda » Sat Nov 07, 2020 3:49 am

Hi, Just sold a couple of yam FJ's, so had some cash burning a hole!!, spotted a 1 owner 1999 R1100 S so thought I had better give it a go, Having never owned a BMW bike before, wanted something not too complicated that I could work on. First impressions very good. Can't say I like the colour though, it's sort of orangy / red, so I might look at getting a change, ( any suggestions? ).

Also Have:
Yam FJR
Triumph tiger 800
V-max
Vespa,
And a couple of projects, never finished.

Welcome along John. Paint colours are a bit of a personal thing made a bit more difficult for me by being colourblind. Orange must look completely different for me as its the one colour I would never use on anything although lots of others love it. A quick Google search on images brings up a load of options to give you an idea. Good luck choosing if you do decide to change it and post some before and after pictures.

Hi John

These bikes are such a lovely design and shape I think they look good in any colour, mine is black and its the last colour I would have chosen but I forgive it because its such a good bike although I'm still debating whether to have it painted, I really like the orange and red colours and the BCR's but there's plenty of them and fancy something a bit different so would go for a HP2 Sport colour style.
