Hi There,
I am a 65 year old Australian and am looking forward to picking up a 2001 R1100s on the weekend.
Have only seen pictures at this stage , it has done roughly 48000 miles and is red...
It has 5.5 rear wheel factory colour coded panniers, bar risers , foot peg lowering kit, Remus exhaust , heated grips , tinted screen and a few other nibs and bobs.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh and working out what needs to be done, I will give it a full 50,000mile service, check the left tensioner and change all fluids and filters including the fuel filter, don't know if it has a charcoal cannister , if it does that will be going.
Will post some picks when I get it, meanwhile hello from the South Coast of New South Wales Australia, I live near a well known set of bikers roads known as Kangaroo Valley and have other bikes in the Man Cave that I won't bore you with. .I know my way around a bike and do all my own work after a bad experience back in the early 80s with a Z1R MKII ! Long story but a mechanics incompetence nearly killed me and ripped my crankcase to shreds.
Looking forward to contributing to this forum, I am on the U.K VTR forum aka Kenmoore!
Cheers for now, getting excited, the gent I am buying the bike from is 80 years old and had a stroke. I can tell by talking to him on the phone that he is going to miss his bike. I have assured him it is going to a good home.
P.S Can anyone point me in the right direction for air box mods?

Hello and welcome to our little corner of the www, hope you enjoy your new steed when you get it.
Have a look in the for sale section I’m sure somebody posted something recently re airbox for 11s but most probably postage would be prohibitive from the UK. But good luck with your search

Modifying the induct pipe or fitting the real deal , A Lennies induct pipe i . I had a standard set up for years and the Lennies was (and is ) amazing . Throttle response at motorway speeds in 6th gear is so much better that it has me searching for another gear.

G'day kenmoore and welcome. I had a 2004r1100s and fitted a Lennies intake duct and agree with comments above. I was down your way a few years ago but Macquarie pass was closed so plan to return towards the end of the year to do a few more rides. Planning to stay at Nowra may be able to meet up for a ride Dobbo.
