Hi,

I live near Tring in Hertfordshire and own a 1999 R1100s, an'01 R1150GS , an '05 R1150GSA and a 1981 R100RS.

I only work about 11 days a month so get plenty of time to ride, like to do one USA trip, one Europe trip and one Scotland trip a year, I also have a young son in Wales so am up there every month.

I am in the Clive MCC so get involved in the Welsh national rally every May - I ran the Criccieth chech point this year.

Mainly bought the R1100s for Nurburgring trips that the local sportbike riders do 3 times a year.

I have an odd fetish for riding long distances and did the Arctic circle this year - 5100 miles in 9 days, I also have a girlfriend in Orkney and like to do that in one hit - record is just over 10 hours, I dont ride fast but have a 9 gallon tank on the '01 GS and just have one 15 min stop.

Kind of fancy doing an Iron Butt one day but am not too keen on the planning stage.

Have had bikes non stop since 1978 so must be heading for the half million mile mark now.
Got into BMW's at the early age of 27 - was fed up with Jap blandness and Brit/Italian unreliablity.
Did actually fix Police bikes for a while so did a few BMW factory courses and also raced RD350LC/YPVS/ GSX/R750

Welcome to the site hope you get some good info and pass some on.

Sounds nice to be able to work only 11 daya a month, hope it pays.
