R1200S Rider, Oxforshire

Postby davida67 » Sat Oct 20, 2007 7:00 pm

We recenty bought an R1200S and wondered if anyone in the Oxfordshire area fancied meeting up? I've only been out on it a few times although I use an R1100RS every day for work. Never had 2 bikes before, but I'm getting used to it!

Just out of interest what crash helmet do you wear?

I quite often pass a RS rider on the old A40 who wears a white Simpson.

Welcome aboard.

I'm near Goring, whereabouts are you?

Hello,

I am in North Wiltshire so not too far away - often end up in the Cotswolds for a ride out. Where are you?

Thanks for the replies.

No, it's not me with a simpson although I did always want one. I usually use a blue shoei for work and a schwantz replica on the 1200S. I would love a spencer replica like I used to have, but apparently no plans from arai to produce one in the near future.

I'm based in Benson so not far from Goring or Wilts if anyone fancies a ride-out. Still getting used to the 1200S, but very impressed so far.

Hi David, welcome aboard :D I'm in Hampshire but am always up for a meet-up, preferably to the South of Oxford.

What colour is your R1200S? Both Dave (KitKat) and I have the colgate colours. I've got a Schwantz replica Arai as well :)

Hi Paul

Our R1200S is Shine Yellow, not our preferred colour, but North Oxford were doing a good deal on their ex-demonstrator. I think I'm going to have to get a hugger for it because the rear shock seems to get filthy on each ride. Any suggestions for suppliers?

It would be good to meet up, maybe a w/e? I actually work in Hampshire, mostly around Basingstoke. South of Oxford is fine with me.

For the hugger check out our good friend Sandbar composites.

He might even do you a deal as a Boxertrix member.

Bixertrix? Is that a special interest site for people who each chocolate biscuits from Germany?

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
