Paging the camera monkeys

Postby slparry » Fri Jul 26, 2013 7:19 pm

My new phone, Blackberry Z10, has a HDR mode. The only info I could find implied it took 3 images at once and combines them via the phones software to get an enhanced image

Just tried this from the dining room window (yeah yeah the drive needs weeding :) ) I'm not sure I like the "effect"

any care to give a non camera geek explanation of the technology?

Yeah, HDR is ugly. It's a nice idea and if used correctly its a useful tool to get even exposure across the whole photograph but unfortunately virtually every one that uses it 'over processes' their photo's and frankly it looks shit.

it seems to add a "brilliance" to the images, not sure if that's the right phrase

But I just don't "like" it somehow :)
