Grass

Postby boxerscott » Sun May 10, 2020 8:10 pm

Lads, a reminder, for those with dandelions in flower on their grass, pick the flowers off before the application of weedkiller. Weedkiller will destroy a hive if any bee returns with it.

It is also a top tip to pull the heads off in flower to stop them seeding and the subsequent proliferation of the little blighters!

jus sayin

Thats me back to the pottin` shed!

My fave garden shed tool is a Dandelion remover. It takes out not only the flower but ll the leaves and the root too if you use it right. Leaves a bloody hole in your garden but it soon fills in again and you don't have to bend down either 8)

That is very true John. We tried this method I up lifted prepared a hole filler with seed and Amanda applied it. We thought we were being green. We were, after half an hour our lass said bollox to this, get it sprayed! we are leaving the grass longer this year and not collecting the cuttings, doing a self feed thing as i have invested in grass nutrient. Someone close to us has top trumped in the lawn mower department. Feeling the need now for a double cut rotary with steel roller for top stripes, lenniesinduct, rocket sprockets. K@n and pussy grips.
