Yes sorry, I bought it in April
I didn't start a thread because I thought you all might ridicule me and take the piss.
Yeah yeah I know.
Buying new is a mugs game, but this is a bike I just had to have.
I started off not going much on it, but after a while I got to the point where I just couldn't not have it.
It is rather splendid.
One of those, every ride is an event, type bikes.
In fact I'm going to have to reign myself in, as I've done 1,300 miles already and my finance agreement only allows me to do 4,000 for the whole year.
Just got to hope that in 3 years I can afford to buy it outright.

Cool. Glad you're enjoying it.

Offers come and go, if you get hung up on whether there might be a better deal around the corner you'd never buy anything.

Personally, I would enjoy riding it, knowing you were one of the first. I would mention to your dealer that you were disappointed that you missed the £500 voucher deal, you never know, they might apply a discount to servicing etc.

don't get too hung up on the mileage, there's only a penalty if you hand it back to BMW at the end of the agreement, if you buy it outright at term end there's no penalty, and if you px it for another bike that's between you and the dealership nothing to do with BMW

Yeah that's exactly what the dealer told me, but always at the back of my mind is the prospect of having to hand it back.
This bike represents the most I have ever spent, and I am a bit nervous about it.
Having said that, in terms of smiles per mile, it's one of my best purchases.
:D

We went 3000 miles over our limit in a Nissan Juke.
Had to pay £700 extra.

Last time I do PCP

I think it's about 9p a mile for me.
3000 miles would be about £270, so maybe not so bad after all.

Its all live and learn.
My first RS I got chuff all off the retail as the bike had just come out and supply was short. Second one this year I used the £700 dealer contribution and timed my approach just before the end of the offer.
First dealer had obviously hit their target and wasn't interested but second one had not and gave me a stonking deal and I twisted the knife by getting the first service FOC as well.
I learnt from the first deal ....

I think it's £89 per thousand for my Juke. Yours certainly seems excessive

Any deals on an S1000r ?
Part exed my R1100s for a KTM superduke 2 months ago, and got knocked off it 5 weeks later. Total loss, so now looking at a replacement and I'm definitely not having another KTM.

Why would you ask that question on a public forum.
Why not just contact the dealer.
:?

Steve is on holiday at the moment in Scotland and off next week too so you may need to wait for an answer.

I'm also interested in what was wrong with the KTM

What was wrong with the KTM? difficult to put my finger on it, but i just never really gelled with it. the engine was absolutely immense with a torque curve to die for, but i ended up riding it more like a 4 as it always felt over stressed if you were riding under 6k as it juddered so much.
other than that there was nothing wrong with it , just didn't float my boat the same way that my ducati did or the boxer cup.
