One Less R1200ST - Replacement Purchased see update page two

Hi Guys,
Glad that TT is ok, good comment on cylinders being crash bungs, never thought of them in that way!
Am thinking of trying an R1200ST, love my R1100S and have kept it for over 6 years, but it isn't the best for long haul 2 up work and have tried various screens to keep wind noise down but to no avail.
Have tried R1150RS but was disappointed with the fairing, I have fond memories of a 1981 R80RS which had the best fairing on ANY bike I have ridden before and since.
I am averse to getting an RT as it is a bit too "sit up" for having a bit of fun, so back to the ST, which seems a reasonable compromise - what do you guys think of it?
TT has obviously had one for a while and others on here have too, so what are they like to ride and how good is that (ugly?) fairing???

Give an RT a go, you may be supprised at how much fun it can be....

Thanx for all the messages guys. I am looking for another ST and may have found one so fingers crossed. The offer AVIVA came back with after I sent them some adverts and Glasses guide figures is actually a fair offer just waiting for it in writing.

I'm kinda dissapointed it wasn't now! Anyway, glad you're OK and looking to get back on a bike ASAP.

10,600 miles and it will come with new battery, MOT and New tyres. I have bagged a top box from ebay and still have the hard luggage from the written off predecessor. Pick it up after my holiday. By which time my back should have stopped hurting.

Nice one. Bike already sorted and, as you say, a couple of weeks of rest and warmth (and medicinal alcohol ) should see you fixed. Your accident will be a fast fading memory.
