Classic TT

Postby Grip Fast » Sun Jan 08, 2017 8:44 pm

I'm planning on going to the Classic TT in August, but my initial check on accommodation shows we're unlikely to get a roof over our heads for much under a small fortune, if there are any left now. So, it might have to be camping.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good campsite on the IoM? Or any suggsections for accommodation that might not show up on the usual search websites (booking.com etc).

Any other tips or hints for a first visit to IoM?

Used the Peel town council site in 2010 with my motorhome and it was ok considering it was full. Right next to the swimming baths and 5 minutes walk from a good pub.
I only booked at the last minute so you should be ok if you are booking now.

No homestay rooms available?

Peel is a nice little town - with enough pubs/eateries to satisfy.

I hadn't heard of homestay before, but just looked it up and seems like a great suggestion. I'll give it a try later and see what I can find. Failing that, I'll look at camping again. I'll have Peel at the top of the list.

Many thanks.

I'm in the same boat. Booked my ferries in December and monitoring the Homestay site as properties get added

I know a lady who has 2 rooms in Douglas lovely lady nice place about 2 mins from Hilberry, you can see the course from kates cottage to the Creg from her conservatory.

Cheers for the above in a roundabout way. I emailed Carol who was full but passed me onto her neighbour who has accommodated me and my father in law. All sorted.

Thanks for the assistance :D
